Our Philosophy
Duke Voice Care Center: Where Everyone has a Voice!
From opera to gospel, from drill sergeant to preschool teacher, millions of professionals depend on their voices for singing or speaking. Even if our jobs do not depend on our voices, our relationships do. Whether you are speaking to a hearing impaired relative or you’re voice has been affected by a medical illness, everyone has a need to communicate.
People often think there’s nothing that can be done for their voices. The human voice is one of our most valuable tools, and anything that changes the way we talk or sing can be a voice problem. At the Duke Voice Care Center, we focus on each person’s unique needs and goals for improving the voice.
“It takes an interdisciplinary team to properly treat a disorder, and our patients are often astonished with the results.” —David Witsell, MD, Director of the Duke Voice Care Center
